My New 24 Volt Model A

I just got it today. I tested it and it works. I think I will not restore it. I got this off eBay for $32.00. Shipping cost was $18.00. The siren has 2 paper tags on the wires. One tag has installation and maintenance instructions. The second one has info about it. The second tag says the siren was made on October 4, 1946. The siren looks like it was never been used, it was put in storage for so many years.

Here are the photos of the ID tag, and paper tags:

Sorry for the huge images. I will post a video of first test of it soon.

Why aren't you going to restore it?

Probably because it needs no more than a little bit of cleaning from the looks of it. Doesn't appear to have been used much, if it was used at all.

Because the condition is good and I can only clean it to make it look better. Should I really restore it?

I would at least give it a fresh coat of paint.

That is cool. Personally if it is from 1946 and all original I would not touch it. It is pretty good shape for its age and can only be all original once.

I will not restore it but I will clean it to make it look nice and clean. Also, earlier today when I was looking at my siren some more. I discovered a small ripped paper tag on the wires.

Here's what it looks like:

Looks like the 2 wires touched and shorted.
