JetStrobe?

Mon Apr 16, 2007 8:02 pm

They're selling this thing on eBay:

The owner claims that it is similar to Whelen lightbars. It's a
"48 inch Federal Signal Jetstrobe Plus fully optioned lightbar". Is there such a thing or what? Looks great, around $300 Buy It Now (he said it's over $1,200 new - true or false?) and I'd like to get my hands on something like this before someone else does!!

So, anyone have any specs?

Yea, they cost about that much new. JetStrobes are ok, but their halogen counterpart, the JetStreams sucks. The light output on those things is horrid.

You'd be better off asking this question on the eLightbars board. Its the siren board of emergency lights :P

Never heard of it, but it looks pretty good to me! I do think the JetStreams really are just a crappy excuse for a lightbar. Take the StreetHawk and make it look like you just threw some lights into a tube... and you've got a JetStream. (I like StreetHawks much better... probably because they've got green ones - very rare - on the security cars here at school.)

They got a vid of it on eBay. Looks really good... even brighter than a Whelen! Of course, it was filmed at night indoors...

Sorry if its long enough to screw up the page formatting!
Anywho, it looks like a really well-built bar to me. Rare, too, from what I can see.
Unfortunately, I can't post the link... it's ending soon, and I can't buy it (I sure as hell don't have $300 to spend mindlessly when I don't even have a car - plus my parents would be pissed) so I will post the link when it's finished.

These are great light bars. The only drawback is the pattern. To me it's boreing. The inboards quad flash and alternate with the outboards. Kind of a clasic ambulance in and out flash pattern if that makes sense. Nice looking while off though. These things are bright and not rare at all. They are still made by FedSig. In fact, now they make a led version of this popular housing type. Oh and very expensive new.
Q2B or not 2B that is the question.
