hello. I am in the begining stages of trying to repair the fog horn on a gearing class destroyer that is being turned into a museum. The horn is still installed and im waiting for help to remove it from its location ontop of the forward smoke stack. on the back plate it has " leslie tyfon 200 " on it. the ship was built at the of 1945 so i am assuming that is a starting point into researching the specs and schematics of it. The big question i have is where do i even start looking for info on this horn.

that did help. thank you. i can now say that it is a pre 1950 horn and solid brass. now that i have it down from its resting place which was a chore in itself. do you have any idea where i can find instructions on how to restore it? All i have done so far is remove the back plate and the 3 diaphrams. i lightly cleaned them just to nock off the heavy build up on them. also another thing that i have noticed is that it does not look like a leslie tyfon horn. I will post pics as soon as i can.

You will get far more help here than you will get here. The A-200 is an amazing horn though.
