I'd have to guess that the tower rusted to the point where it was so weak that either wind came and blew it over the building or it just fell on its own.

Model 5 knockoff in Higginsport, OH. Is this a GCS or a Darley?

...and its replacement, a Whelen Hornet.

Lastly, a 2T22 atop a US Bank building in Maysville, KY.

Was hoping that my close-up nighttime shots of the Thunderbolt atop the former Hudepohl Brewery in Cincinnati turned out, but no dice. (Serves me right for not bringing along a tripod.) I'll have to return in the daytime.

That siren would be a GCS brand siren.

I will take this one, that siren was in New Market, MD just outside of Frederick... they had a very strong wind storm come through with lots of gusting winds. As cool as the 2T22 looks, it can function as a wonderful wind dam... as you can imagine when you put it on top of a flimsy former radio tower and add a bunch of gusting wind this is what happens. Amazingly enough, the siren still activated when they got a call for storm related automatic fire alarm. The siren has since been remounted onto a pole is still sounding to this day (though with paid staffing it is down to 1 round), still a funny picture and I love the "Ohh look a penny" comment and meme!! It would also appear it is doing it's own take on President Lyndon Johnson's intimidation of a colleague! LOL

Actually I believe it's a Darley Model 3. GCS sirens have a flat top.

That 2T22 looks pretty comical. How long has it been like that?
