You do have to admit it sounds pretty darn awesome, but I agree, it could be on a different voltage.
It sounds like a 10/12 port siren but with a high slip motor, sort of like the Brodmoor (forgive my spelling) Hospital Klaxons. But yes, it's very eerie.
This is my favourite system as well. I would pay huge money to hear it in person, but that's no longer possible since they went with a full 2001 system.
I think some of the audio that I got here sounds pretty eerie as well, this is from the April 14, 2012 outbreak.

This is so apocalyptic. It sounds amazing at points, then it goes back to like a T-128, P-15 and Thunderbolt mashup... sounds a ton better than Wichita's new mix.
The attack cycle sure is an attention getter... the mix of that 4/5 Thunderbolt and the T-128 rattles my cage... then you add the P-15 on top of that... just... :wtf:
Great vid.

Thanks!
All the ambiance includes now is T-128's. All of the other sirens have been removed or deactivated.

I'm sure that's what we'll eventually end up with, just one sold mix of ATIs... which you know fall apart within about three years of service. Electronic sirens simply can't take the beating that mechanical sirens can.
This is an ambience video I made on July 3rd this year of Franklin County's voice test. The video would have been much better if my darn neighbor didn't fire up his LawnBoy halfway through the test... But still, the recording is decent.
