I think the Model 2 you hear is a broken solenoid on a 3T22, Purdue had many XT22s but have since been replaced by Eclipse-8s.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Lebanon, Indiana. Place is full of 20V2T's and they all run attack.

I'll be honest, in terms of best ambiance (not creepiest), I'll have to go with 2001s in attack.

Come to think of it, the slow wind-up reminds me of the American Signal T-128. It could even be an electronic Whelen, but the other sirens obscure it so I can't tell whether it's mechanical or electronic. It winds up after the first xT22.

In Tippecanoe county there are no Whelens, you can hear a Sickly STH-10, that's what sounds like a Model 2.

Here's a video of it:

I'm flattered my Purdue video made it on here twice. It's one of my favorites too. The new system doesn't sound too bad either, although not quite as unique.

Cannot forget this one from kswx29:

Best sounding 500 I've ever heard, sounds like a Thunderbolt on Chopper 4 with 208 Volt Motor.

I'm surprised nobody mensioned this one...One of the most epic wind-downs I've ever heard...

These two from the Lansing, MI area are good too.

And this is one of the best ones I've ever heard in person. Sadly, the loudest Tbolt has recently been replaced with a 2001-130.

The 500SH-TT sounds like the motor is sick or not receiving full power.

You do have to admit it sounds pretty darn awesome, but I agree, it could be on a different voltage.
