Thank you 12kV for the better information. That would be a better way to do it. Since our motor does have internal heat sensors, can that be used as a date indicator?
Though I furnished FedSig with her serial number, they have no idea when they made "Tootie"

Voltage Issue

Thu Mar 29, 2007 3:16 am

I have seen the building has 2 services on it. As a power lineman I can only assume 1 is single phase while the other is 3 phase. My issue would be if what is posted so far is true and that the same transformer bank runs the p-50 that means it has to be a 480 volt 3 phase bank. Most allertors were 240v. 3 phase. so my question to people out there is this a voltage miss match issue?
Sincerely,

Welcome back Mike! It's 3T22 from Signalfan's.

P-50's are dual voltage they can run on 240 or 480. That one is probley on 240

Isn't the Allertor (most three-phase motors) 208-240/480?
If they had 240 internal connected on 480, would they not have immediately damaged the internal windings?
Will be interesting to learn what is wrong.
Maybe one three-phase leg is down or undervolt. (Does undervolt happen?)
Thank you,

If the limit of non-stop work for a particular siren is, say, fifteen minutes, then you give out a signal for a maximum of fifteen minutes, which is more than enough. There is not use in spending too much money.
Newer sirens, like the T-128, use a current transformer for which one wire going to the siren motor passes thru the "donut" of the CT. If current is high or low, the CT can indicate that to whatever monitor curcuitry and shut down or transmit a code to the activation point/EMA office.

The reason that it's an 8/12 is because of the 4-bladed "support rotor" on the front of the siren, with 9/12 being 3-bladed, and 10/12 being 2-bladed.
