Wisconsin Statewide Siren Map (WIP)

Fri Aug 23, 2013 2:17 am

http://goo.gl/maps/HJLtB

This map is a work in progress. So far, I have about 27/72 counties. I'm reconfiguring the placemarks, so that will also take time.

Current County in Progress: Jefferson County (If there are any sirens that I have missed, please reply and I will add them)

8/22: Placemarks are now up to date
8/23: Corrected DaneCo and added 4 sirens

Here's what I know in Jefferson County. Let me know if you need locations for them.

Watertown has 3 P-10s/P-15s
Johnson Creek has a Super Banshee
Lake Mills currently has a T-128 visible from the interstate. Also has some red fire siren I can't identify from Google Maps. They used to have a xT22, a P-1x.
Fort Atkinson has one P-1x and one 2001 downtown
Waterloo has a Modulator, I believe

Some corrections in Dane Co. Their siren map doesn't reflect these, and neither will Google Maps. These replacements have occurred within the last 1-2 years.

Cross Plains: EOWS 1212 replaced by a T-121
Verona: one of the Perf+ Penetrators is in the wrong spot. It should be at the fire station, not on Main St.
Madison: the siren labeled 13.72 is not a T-128. It is a 2001-130.

Here's one for Green County: New Glarus has an EOWS 1212 near 7th Ave and 5th St. By the entrance to the historical museum parking lot.

Will post more as I see them.

Lake Mills red Siren is a STL at the fire station
Waterloo have a Modulator for noon and 1:PM only in chimes they have A STH next to it for Fire calls and 2 2001's

Fort Atkinson when I went thru there had a Decot downtown and 2 1003's

Thanks guys!

I corrected all of the DaneCo errors.
I got the JC Superbanshee, the Lake Mills STL, the Waterloo MOD, and the Waterloo STH-10.
I need the locations of the Lake Mills -128, the Watertown P-1Xs (I read a PDF from the city of Watertown saying they had nine sirens, but it didn't have the locations), and the Waterloo 2001s. I have a feeling I just overlooked most of the sirens without noticing...

Archon-- Where were the Decot and 1003s located? That system probably sounded amazing when it was there.

The T-128 in Lake Mills is on Cherokee Path, near some condos by the Interstate. The old P-1x was by the school near there on Pine St. I think. Tempest must have replaced it.

One of Waterloos' 2001s is next to the water tower.

The P-1xs I know of in Watertown are/were mounted on the supports of the water tower on O'Connell St., the parking lot of Schurz Elementary along Clark St., and by the water tower on Western Ave. near Concord Ave. You might look at some of the subdivisions around the periphery in parks for newer units.

Fort Atkinson has a P-1x along Jefferson St. in Ralph Park. It's pretty low mounted! Their 2001 is atop the Municipal Building on W. Water St. at N. Main.

All of Rock County's siren locations should be online somewhere too.

Thanks!! I scanned around Watertown and found a 2001, so I expect to see most of them being 2001s if the original system was three P-1Xs.

-- I also found a Banshee/XT22 in Waterloo, along with an Allertor.
