Federal mod's

Sat Mar 17, 2007 8:43 pm

I would like to know the dimensions of a federal model 2, so I can calculate shipping. Also, does anybody know if Weedsport NY still has their model 2 sitting around? The picture on the siren archive was taken about 4 years ago.

The Model 2 is about 15-20" wide and around 25" or so tall. The weight is about 60 lbs. However the dimensions may be different if you are talking about a Fedelcode Type 2.

Thanks, I also have just wrote a letter to the Weedsport Fire Department about that siren. :)

hmm, well I checked out shipping for it. If the package were made to fit the siren, it would cost 20-$27, no problem. But if it were put in a 28x28x28 box, shipping would cost $133! :?

I don't believe your letter is going to do much good, when I was there (and shot the picture) I offered the chief $100 for it and he didn't even think about it before he said no. I wish you luck on it though... maybe if you are offering more than I offered you might get somewhere.... but the chief appeared to be quite a character  . Peru, NY..... blue fire apparatus if my fire apparatus memory serves me properly (and 99.999% of the time it does)... I should clarify this by saying the Clinton County Peru has blue Fire Apparatus..if you live in Onondaga County I guess you would be covered by Memphis (whose siren I have never seen) or Jordan (who has a nice XT22 and really nice apparatus)....either way... good luck with the Weedsport siren.

Well, that sucks. I am now 100% screwed! Yes we have the blue "theme" going on. It does not seem to matter how many dang connections I have, nobody is going to help me I guess. I must thank you for telling me that though. ~EDIT area~ nevermind, it seems that a very nice man will be helping me with this problem! :D

Well lets see, the Model 3 has the same rotor and housing of the Models 5 & 7, except that it has only a three horse motor instead of a five or seven horsepower. They were single tone only (I think, mostly 12 ports) and they have a really looooong, slooooww, windup.

I wanted to listen to a recording of one on the media page, but the link is broken. Does anybody know the general weight? I looked in one of the catelogs, and the number I saw was 240?
