Wow, that thing is tiny, it looks no bigger than a Model 2...

I wonder what the CTI omni sounds like up close, as we already have the distant recording.

What did happen to Ben Shinn after he closed his company down?

One of the original CTI sirens, the one in Okmulgee, OK, has been replaced. It is now a 2001 of some sort. Google maps provides a little treat. There was a county worker there at the siren, with all the cabnets open, ladders, a trailer, doing work on it right next to the google car. I was looking at some news footage about Tusla OK having different siren tones for different threats. In one clip it showed a Thunderbolt but it had CTI logos on the rotator box and on the bottom of the horn. Im guessing it was refurbished by Ben? Here is the link to the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siIxQZi8LRg

Sorry to bump but that thunderbolt was probably one that got part switched. Ben Shin did make part for discontinued sirens for a while so it could very well be one that has CTI made parts.

If memory serves me right, Ben had a collection of pics from a few restoration jobs of his on his long-defunct web page. Shame that CTI's own website was never more than a crummy brochure page.
