My Allertronic

Sat Mar 24, 2012 4:36 am

Hello everyone,
As it is mentioned in my signature, i have a downed ACA Allertronic RE-1600. I Acquired it from the fire chief. it has been on the ground (hence the term downed) for about 3 years now where a ASC T-128 now stands. my friend and i opened the boxes yesterday, and found that in the main control panel, a component was missing, and there was an old CB radio microphone for voice announcements. the siren has 1 civil defense sticker on the head itself, and one on the control box. my friend and i are looking to restore it to its glory. pictures coming soon

Thank you! it has been 200 ft from my house since i was born, and i always loved going out on Wednesdays at 9:00 AM to hear it. when the siren was taken down, it was meant to go to country fest (very popular music concert) but the rotational motor broke so the chief just put up a new one and left the old one there to die

other sirens in my city
Old(er) ASC T-128
3 new(ish) ASC T-128
new ASC T-128 200 ft from my window
also, Rhinelander used to have an Allertronic 5000 (look it up, its pretty neat) like i said pictures coming soon

Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.

first off, the siren did not come from new berlin, i just use that video to brag, secondly, the fire cheif says he wasn't part of taking down the allertronic 5000. which is the one in the second photo. when i asked him about it while working on mine, i asked where it was now, and he told me it was none of my business. i am currrently trying to find a city scrapyard in hopes of finding it for you, but it may take a while to do so. i will be able to get pictures tonight (my day is packed) at about 5:10 PM CDT, any other questions?
