Ahhh yes, the Federal Model 5 in McVeytown... I have been to Mifflin County more times than I can count. That siren was taken down in 2003 and completely redone...bearings, bolts, windings... the works. It sounds great!

Yeppers, I have been to all of the firehouses in all of the surrounding counties. I have a good friend who lives in Lewistown... he is the EMS Chief of FAME EMS. Him and I go out and take pictures of fire trucks together, the unkown thing in Lewistown is on the Brooklyn's firehouse.. it is a 5 Port Model 5.. or it was at one point. Lewistown sounds the the Diaphone on the Brooklyn's station (which you probably didn't see since you have to look really, really close from the back parking lot) and the diaphram horn at the City Hook and Ladder station each night at 10 o'clock for curfew. It is quite a neat sound. Here are some of the other sirens in Mifflin/Huntington County:

Mifflin County
Company 1 (Burnham) Model 2
Company 3 (Yeagertown) GCS Model 2
Company 4 (Highland Park) GCS Model 2
Company 5 (Decauter) Model 5

Company 7 (Milroy) SD-10
Company 8 (New Lancaster Valley) Sterling 2V8
Company 10 (Newtown) Model 2 and Model D
Company 16 (Granville) Sterling 2V8
Company 17 (Strouds Mills) Model 2
Company 23 (Allensville) Model 5
Company 24 (Belleville) Model 2
Company 26 (Newton-Wayne) I have no idea what it is

Huntington County
Mapleton Model 5
Mount Union Fedalcode Duel rotor
Huntington (2) Model 5s
Smithfield 3T22
Mconnellstown Model 5
Shade Gap Model 5
Orbisonia Sentry 3V8
