Federal Signal STH-10 { Alert }

Thu Feb 05, 2009 8:02 pm

I skipped class this morning to record this STH-10 sounding for the monthly siren test. You can hear this siren in my tornado warning videos as well. It was pretty loud from where I was standing. I wanted to get a better visual of the siren, but due to the mounting of it was hard to get a good shot of it. Also this siren is on private property and the surrounding areas are clearly marked, so I didn't want to get into trouble. Enjoy!

Thanks! I wish that this camera had higher optical zoom because once you get into the digital zoom (the main part of the video was shot at 12x optical zoom) you start loosing quality (I zoomed in all the way at the end of the video which explains why the image became distorted). Other than that, I'd say it's a pretty solid camera.

Excellent video. I love how the snow gets blown out the horns. This siren really does have an very nice sound to it.

Sincerely yours,

Ron W.
