That is a nice sounding siren!
What kind of camera and mic setup did you use?

I use a Canon S5IS which is the same camera that TSMaster5150 and RamFett both use. It's really a picture camera, but I've been pretty impressed with the audio and video quality. I got rid of my Sony HandyCam and got my Canon this past fall.

Beastly. I can only imagine how big the horn must be to house that larger rotor, considering the inner row of holes (the horns) itself is wider in diameter than the rotor!

It doesn't seem like the horn of the T-135 AC/DC is that much smaller, if it even is, than the older T-135 AC. It's definitely larger than the T-128 horn and if you've seen both the T-128 and T-135 AC/DC in person, you should be able to tell immediately because the horn size is fairly significant.

Here are a few pics I snapped right after the test. It's beastly underneath the horn. Not as beastly as the older T-135, but beastly nonetheless.

After the test, I also checked the T-135 AC/DC that I tried videoing before. The horn has moved so I assume it's hooked up now.

There is so much about this siren that is better than the 2001-130! It sounds better, looks better and probably has not had as many problems as the 2001-130. I would love to see these in more places.

Yes, I was comparing it to the smaller one, the T-128.

The T-135-ACDC has a nice penetrating sound. It sort of reminds me of a single tone P-15, only with a deeper tone. The only single tone siren that beats this one in my oppinion is the Thunderbolt 1000.

I have two questions. How far away from the siren were you, and what are the background sirens heard?

I was about .3 miles away which is about 1,700ft. away from the siren. I figured up that the siren would have been between 90 and 95 dB from where I was at and it sure seemed like it. It didn't kill your ears, but you couldn't tallk over it.

The siren heard primarily after this siren shuts down must be another T-135 AC/DC because it sounded exactly the same as the one I was by. Basically I could hear T-135 AC/DCs, P-10s/15s, T-128s, a TBolt 1000T and possibly a couple Whelen WS-3016s (one was about 2 miles away and I could just barely hear it).

Nicely done. You got really nice sound quality from the S5IS. Mine always has this weird high-pitched electronic hissing sound in the background.

Oh, and I wasn't the first to film one of these bad boys. There was this one in New Orleans. Too bad the audio sucked and he talked through it.
