Who has ever heard a Whelen sound like this?

I'm not sure if that has been posted here, but I've never heard a Whelen sound like that. Its definitely a low-tone variant of the 1980's era tone generators. However, if you notice, its not at all the same as the early 1990's Whelens, which use a yet lower version of that tone. Compare here:

Just a point of interest, I thought.

This is slightly off topic, but, what are you talking about? The 4004 I used for comparison is of the first generation 4004s, which shared its generator with the 2000-series of the era, as well assumedly with the last 3016s sold. The generator on that 4004 is obviously of the same construction of the original Whelen generators (analog), just lowered considerably in pitch (listen to the wind-down and compare it to any earlier Whelen). Need more proof? Here's a 2016 with that generator:

Some Whelens with the newer digital tone generators sound similar to that, like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur6OS4GQDPw. Comparatively for that 3016 the pitch is just a tad lower and the wind-down is longer and less linear, I'm guessing it's the original tone generator, just with the pitch lowered.

I've heard Whelens that sounded the Alert signal at that pitch, but I've never heard one get as low as that one got during the wind-down.
