SD-10 without an AR timer?

Sat Aug 11, 2007 12:10 am

Well, I went to the place with the old SD-10 siren today in hope of finding an AR timer.

I was shocked to find a high current DPST switch, a relay can connected to the phone cables, a push button, 2 more switches, and a Federal motor starter.

No AR timer! And the wiring was complete, so it was not pulled out before.

I bought the motor starter/breaker/contactor assembly for $25.

Did I get ripped off? Help.

No I don't think you got ripped off, The AR timer is probably at a fire station or something.

Yeah. That's probably what the deal is. The timer is
probably at another location and it controlled the thing
over leased phone lines.

Northwest of here in Haven the system is controlled by 24V control lines and an AR timer at the fire house.
