Hey Gil....

Tue Jul 24, 2007 9:05 pm

I was on Hoffman Estates yesterday for a seminar...I saw 3 sirens when I was there. An RM-130 at the police station. An RM-130 next to Hilldale golf course from the northwest tollway, and one yellow allertor on Golf rd near Barrington Road. They are very close together, not to many coverage gaps there.

Haha, i'm familiar with all of those locations. The RM-130s appearantly have battery-backup. Yes, all of the Village's sirens are VERY close
together. In my part of town, there are 3 sirens within a mile and a half of eachother.

Fire Department says there are 13 sirens throughout the town, but i've only found 8.

I do know of at least 1 T-135 in Schaumburg, and thats in the industrial park. The siren is visible from Interstate 90. I've been told several things.
One, that Schaumburg has 9 T-135s, and Two, that they all 9 are P-10s/15s. I can't prove either one, but I do know that I have seen a T-135 and a P-10 in Schaumburg.

Thunderbeam63, what do you mean?

Well, they tested the sirens today. 1 1/2 minutes Alert, rest, 30 seconds Attack.

There was a problem with 2 other sirens where their attack signal ran to 3 minutes, versus the 30 seconds. Either their sirens are messed up, or mine is. I reported it to the FD.
