Argh... Glad to know I'm not the only one who got trolled by that, yesterday they were supposed to test the sirens in Oise too.

I waited, waited.. Not a peep from the Gouvieux siren.. Feeling defeated, I went back home.. I could've gone on foot to Chantilly, but since we got informed that a pretty beastly storm was coming down, I didn't want to take the risk.

Oh and yeah, regarding the storm, might as well add some juicy details: it hit around 21:30, thunder, lightning, the whole stuff... And then it morphed into a nasty hailstorm, before calming down and turning into a plain old thunderstorm round midnight.

Anyways, I'll see in June if I can catch a bus to Chantilly or Lamorlaye and see if they test the sirens there.
too bad for you too, and that storm, well... thats even worse, anyways, the guy selling the R3P dropped the price from 200 to 190€, and i just WANT to buy that thing, like i just want to, so tommorow i might buy it, not today tho.
tho, for Videauban, i raged when i was informed it sounded off even when it was a goddamn holiday, i guess that is what happens when automatic controllers are used for sirens...
also, i found a 12V 8 port Legrand siren on leboncoin for 10€, so when i buy that Demay R3P once and for all (if it works) i will probably also buy that one, which will add up to 200€ which was the original price of the Demay R3P. also as a fun fact, i have a variable DC power supply which i use for powering electronics and testing motors (yes, i have a collection of motors), and since the siren is 12V, i can run it, and in case i want to run it without the adapter, i can just wire it up to a separate 12V power supply.
also, in one youtube video was a siren up in Réville with square horns, according to someone in the comments, the horns were sadly changed to round horns, and then no more info about it, julien boller tried finding it for hours, but couldnt, until today. i found it. I FOUND IT. it was on the back of the city hall, it was a perfect match on the position, yes but why am i saying perfect match about the position and not that i found the siren ??? because the siren was... missing. thats right, in every street view and photo out there, i couldnt spot it, at all, even in a street view from 2009, it was nowhere to be found, that siren must have been removed before 2009, thats too bad, only two photos exist, both are in this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZduE8Mt5UP8 and it is photo 11 and maybe photo 12 as well. if you have any more information about Réville, please tell me. also, heres the picture of the perfect match that i found from before, you can compare it with photo 11 of the vid if you want.

Réville? No, unfortunately I do not... I was also looking for this one since years, all I got was practically nothing. I haven't gave Google Earth a shot though.

I FOUND IT, I FOUND IT. I FOUND IT. I FINALLY FOUND THE REVILLE SIREN.
just compare this : https://www.google.com/maps/@49.6194025 ... ?entry=ttu
to the image of the Réville siren in this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZduE8Mt5UP8&t=40s
and boom, same spot, the window and everything is here, but no siren... it looks like the siren was removed before 2008 as no street views exist with the siren.

There's ought to be a aerial view somewhere, it's still better than nothing.

Maybe the picture in the video is older than the video itself, and that the Reville siren was removed earlier than that?

idk, tho, i am having insane luck, you know those CICCA 7 port sirens ? I FOUND A VIDEO OF ONE RUNNING. and they dont sound like an 7 port AT ALL (edit : after a bit of math i concluded it is 2850rpm 15 port, which is insane). video here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT5T7WoF1vs it might be vietnamese, but thats a CICCA for sure.
i am currently looking for more videos of CICCA sirens, if i do find some, i will obviously say them here.

Oh I've seen this video many years ago, nobody could tell what it was... I guess that solves the mystery to some extent, heh..

But, there's something that bothers me, I've NEVER heard a 7-port siren running in 50Hz, but I know there's the Federal STL-10 that has 7 ports yet sounds like a French air raid siren, although I presume it must have a lower RPM motor given how low its pitch is.

It's fascinating to me how two sirens with an identical port ratio can sound different if you adjust some factors like the motor speed, power frequency and what else can be adjusted...

this one sounds different because of the fake port ratio, the stator has 7 ports, but the rotor has 15 ports (thanks to math i was able to calculate it), which means it sounds like a 50hz 15 port siren. the sound of it lets me know that it definitely is not just a siren with a extremly fast motor, but rather a siren with a bunch of ports.

Well then, it gets even better, now what we'd need is to somehow find a close-up of that siren's identification tag if possible.. It really looks Chollet/Cicca-esque, but I'm not a hundred percent certain it is one.

Or maybe it was modified in some way? Who knows really..

if we ever get a picture of the tag of one of these, then we will know. there was a picture of the tag on a black hornless one on leboncoin (i probably talked about it a long time ago, and it even cost 100€ if i remember correctly) and it had nothing special, it just said the voltage and the brand (CICCA), and other information about the motor. what we would really need is the tag on one of those weird ones, such as that one in Vietnam, or the Barjols one. i still cannot belive that the town i used to live back when i was a baby (Barjols, but as i said it was only when i was a baby now i dont live there) had one of the rarest sirens ever. anyways, i am out of things to say for now, but just one more thing, below are some links to CICCA sirens on the julien boller siren map (i contribute to it), as you can pretty much see from the list, it is tiny, so that too is a hint to how rare they are, now heres the list :

hornless CICCA siren on a factory -- https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?hl ... 81935&z=21 -- the same type as that black one i was talking about earlier on leboncoin

8 horn CICCA siren on top of a city hall -- https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?hl ... 62025&z=20

unknown CICCA siren on top of a Airbus hangar -- https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?hl ... 41446&z=21 -- first, WHY IS IT ON TOP OF A PLANE HANGAR ??? and second, i have no clue what it is, but it does look CICCA-like so i called it a CICCA on the map.

8 horn CICCA siren with one missing horn on top of a city hall (remplaced by a stupid Pakita :/) -- https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?hl ... 96716&z=20 -- too bad it was remplaced by a Pakita siren, but the siren that was here before is definitely a CICCA.

8 horn CICCA siren with one missing horn on top of a fire station -- https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?hl ... 89596&z=21 -- its not that common to see a siren on a fire station in france, but it happens every now and then.

the good old Barjols siren -- https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?hl ... 28788&z=20 -- do i have to explain anything here, its the Barjols siren, we talked about it a long time ago, and of course, its still here, too bad it does not work.

the Verneuil siren that got remplaced by a Pakita -- https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?hl ... 19995&z=20 -- we also talked about this one a long time ago, and sadly as we all know, it got remplaced by a Pakita.

unknown CICCA siren on top of a city hall -- https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?hl ... 69895&z=20 -- it looks very similar to that one on top of the Airbus hangar, but its not exactly the same, as the stator is a bit different.

8 horn CICCA siren on top of a fire station -- https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?hl ... 00042&z=19 -- oddly enough, this fire station has a tower, which is rare, and of course they put the siren on it, but thats definitely a CICCA right there.

and thats all of them, and now i actually have nothing else to say.

Hey.. I've been kept busy by real life's usual shenanigans (long story) but of all the locations you posted.. (besides Verneuil where I'm still fuming that it got replaced...) I haven't been able to open the links (currently away from my computer + my phone doesn't seem to like Google Maps links, whatever)..

So the Airbus hangar thing, I can sorta guess it had to do with clearing the runway, they'd probably sound off the siren to let personnel on-site know that they must stay off the runway.. Something like that I'd presume?

The fire station one, it reminds me of that one SDIS 60 station I spotted in Liancourt/Mogneville they also have a similar tower mast and they have a siren on top that I'm not quite sure if it's a Cicca, I just thought about it. Liancourt has two sirens, one on a tower block (which is only visible from a distance, in person) that also seems to be dormant, and the fire station one.

(there's also Precy-sur-Oise's fire station, but they have a Demay R3P which seems to be dormant as well).

There's PROBABLY a Cicca hiding in Nogent-sur-Oise, on the grounds of the old Howden BC facility, I've seen it in person, it's the smaller kind of Ciccas/Chollet with the conica hat and the horn less rotor.. Although the building it's on has a diesel generator in it, so I think it may be a exhaust vent.. Since it's directly on the inner courtyard of the facility it's obviously not visible, in person I had to stand a bit far away to even catch a glimpse of the siren (?).

Although it's on a private property, so it's inaccessible, but I got some pictures of it when I was working there briefly (formation), so gimme a couple of weeks to find it on my hard drives and perhaps we could take a crack at identifying it.
