The Colony TX's old sirens

Mon Jan 08, 2024 5:06 pm

Hello! This is my first post, so ignore any mistakes. I recently came across a post (I can't find it) claiming the Colony Texas had an old ACA siren system. More than just the old P-50, which is now in Sweetwater. If anyone knows more about their old sirens (or maybe I just misread the post) or the locations where these sirens once stood, I'd love to know.

The only P-50 info I could find was the one at Griffin Middle School. The rest seem to now be 2001s. (https://www.airraidsirens.net/bwillcox/ ... index.html) and I found a city page about the modern system. According to the site they have 10 sirens along with a weather radio recommendation. (https://www.thecolonytx.gov/280/Outdoor-Warning-Sirens) I’ll keep looking. Since I was able to uncover my city’s old system I bet I can try to find out about that one

Update: One siren is located! 33.1078704, -96.9007488 either a P-10 or P-15; (2007) hopefully I can narrow down some other ones too.
