If the motor was 480v, it would be three phase. To change it to 240v, you simply rewire the motor's nine leads to accept a low voltage connection.

Fantastic, Archon. Congratulations!
If not too much trouble, can the screen be removed to photograph the rotor and stator?
Thanks for the detailed comparisons.
25 hp. single-phase? Imagine the amps that would take.

Robert, I think it probably draws around 100-200 amps.

25hp single phase? That would have to be a custom built motor. They don't manufacture motors over 10hp in single phase.

Actually, I have seen 15hp repulsion-induction and capacitor-start motors.

10 & 15 HP is single phase are common 25 was tried in a few Allertors that were single tone they kept burning out the controller or the windings.
It was short lived. I did see a 25 HP single phase Single tone allertor back in the mid 70's, It was bit bigger than the other ones. When I first saw it I thought it was a industial vaccum for the building. I never heard it go off. It has long been gone replaced with a RM-130.

Your right, in fact, there have been successful prototypes of 50hp single phase pump motors built for rural use. I meant that single phase motors over 10hp are very rare. Good job with the Growler!

The other one is a Penetrator If oil leaked out of that one it's because there is a breather hole on the gear box.
