"wild" 40v2t video

Tue Jun 05, 2007 8:18 am

There's finally a video out there of a "wild" 40v2t in action being tested by the crew at Sentry in Northern Ohio. There's a red strobe on the base of the siren that flashes when it sounds. Sounds real good. NOTE: when I say "wild" I mean actual instal, vs "captive" from the factory or in a collection http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2MlmcY8UZU they also have posted another one with a single phased 15v2t in the same area http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4jqr3en ... ed&search=

The strobe is for providing visual alerts to people who can address it, so that if the siren is not comprehensible enough due to nearby, they can see the strobe if close enough. The 15V2T must have two motors. I really enjoyed the videos.

I love both of those sirens, but the 15V really sends me into orbit. Is the motor on the 15V single or three-phase?

Sincerely yours,

There is only one motor on the 15v. It is single phase....you can tell by the "drop out" in RPMs as the siren winds down.

Single phase 15v2t's have 2 motors since single phase motors over 10hp are a rarity and highly expensive.

There has to be two motors because the rotors are audibly out of phase.
