Contacting the city was my first thought. I visited WSS a few weeks ago and they had just scrapped their 812s and some of their 612s. I have good connections with WSS and their employees and could easily get a siren from them. My biggest concern is knowing when the sirens are due for removal, so I would know when to contact anyone about it.
Due for removal? at the time of the street view that was taken there probably looooong gone by now.Bdesantis5632 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 11:50 pmContacting the city was my first thought. That's a very good point. If that's the case, they're definitely scrapped. I was hoping anyone in the Bay City area here could confirm.jacob585 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 2:19 amDue for removal? at the time of the street view that was taken there probably looooong gone by now.Bdesantis5632 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 11:50 pmContacting the city was my first thought. There was an ambience video taken recently (compared to Google photos) of a 3012 and a 2001. The cameraman panned over to the two and also showed a very shakey 812 some metres away from the 2001. I have a feeling they're still there.Bdesantis5632 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 4:29 amThat's a very good point. If that's the case, they're definitely scrapped. Yes, they are still there. A contact of mine in the Clare/Bay City area has confirmed that. they probably have no plans of taking them down, as they cause no real harm remaining up. They may come down someday, but they're still up and will remain that way for years.Chem_Boffin_6589 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 9:59 amThere was an ambience video taken recently (compared to Google photos) of a 3012 and a 2001. When you say "Long gone", what do you mean? Do you mean internal condition or actually removed and scrapped? The other replies are reassuring and much appreciated.Duderocks5539 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 7:40 pmYeah there still there. But if I were to choose one ,Id choose the one that has its Siratone still mounted on the pole. The one that has the the SRNB next to it has its Siratone long gone. I also hate to go off topic for a sec but the siren you see in my avatar was made by SoCal Edison electricity here in southern california for the SONGS plant. What angers me is the people at SONGS decided to scrap those unique gems that they designed when they upgraded to Whelen 2810s and 2806s in March 2006. I do own one from the designer but it needs motors and the horns and frame assembly made for it. If your curious about it and what info about them ,just pm me. Also agian sorry for going off topic. But it just angers me when people destroy unique or one of a kind sirens.

The unit by the 2001 doesn't have it's SiraTone controller, where the other 2 units do.Bdesantis5632 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 30, 2018 2:21 amWhen you say "Long gone", what do you mean?
