Re: DFW Area Sirens?

Thu Mar 15, 2018 10:28 pm

Since this is a DFW sirens question. Here's some info.
McKinney, Texas: Whelen 4008's, one vortex, and some Omni directional ones. (Can't remember the name).
Dallas: All Federal Signal SRN-2001's (Some Inactive T-Bolts)
Princeton, Texas: ASC-T'121's
Allen, Texas: ATI's
Frisco, Texas: Whelen Vortexes, Omni Directionals, and a few ATI'S that I hopefully assume they are getting replaced.
These towns are all on the Northeast/North part of DFW.
Hope this helps you!

There's still a T-Bolt on top of the A.D. Marshall Public Safety & Courts Building in downtown Fort Worth. Pretty sure it's the only remaining Thunderbolt in Fort Worth, and it's been inactive for over a decade, though I remember talking to someone who said the power's still connected. Anyway, it's a pretty Art Deco building and could make for some cool pictures.
My girlfriend does not understand this at all. Actually I really don't either.

You're right in the sense that they have 4008s, but they have 2 4004s. They do voice, so they needed voice sirens. Vortexes aren't capable of voice unless you retrofit a controller. Their omnis are 2810/2910 sirens. They also have an inactive Denver in a junk pile at a FD.

Rowlett=ASC T-128's
Sachse=ASC T-128's
Wylie= ACA Penetrators
Rockwall= ACA Penetrators & T-128's
Sunnyvale= Whelen 4004's
Forney=Whelen Vortex's
Terrell=Whelen Vortex's
Balch Springs=Mix of ACA Penetrators & Federal 2001's
Seagoville= ACA Penetrators
