While driving down Central Parkway today headed towards the Clifton area, the head on the T-128 is still leaning at the corner of Linn Street and Central Parkway is still leaning from when after it was hit by the car earlier in the month.

Welp,Dearborn County had a major failure this morning. Most of their sirens failed to activate during the tornado warning and it has made the news. This doesn't surprise me as I have seen so many of their sirens fail or not function properly.
Moore's Hill- Dead
Wilmington and Aurora 2001DCs- Dead
Bright 612- Blown Drivers
Dillsboro 3016- Failure to Rotate

Not to mention the service that their provider gives them is less than quality. The EMA has told me they've reported many of these issues to their service provider and obviously they haven't been addressed. . This time it appears that their Commander is failing or having a "power issue'. Either way, these failures and blunders are just not acceptable in my eyes and I really hope that this is a wake up call to look into some higher quality options before a tornado injures or kills anyone. I feel bad for the EMA, they're being ripped off by paying 30,000 for a 2001 and getting such secondhand service. The taxpayers are paying for these systems and the EMA is having this system in good faith, it pains me to see both groups overpaying and being ripped off.

Don't know what to say about this article. It is a shame there is not a back up plan as we have in Hamilton County. I also am upset about the cost of a 2001 siren and Dearborn County is being screwed as our sirens are $20,000.00 and have a better output and have farther range.

As far as the service provider I have gone behind them in another Ohio county and repaired a lot of their half assed installations, lousy rebuilds. So half assed that I was afraid to touch the siren as the 1/4 x 20 running thread that they used to hold up the horn I had to strap the siren to the pole and make it safe to work on. They told the EMA director they will not work on a T-Bolt they half assed installed 2 years before and wanted to sell them a new siren. I repaired the siren for less than a thousand dollars and it is working fine. Pass my name on to Dearborn County if you want to.

TEST DAY: Today March 7th the sirens will be tested by Zones. So the sirens will not go off all at once there will be a 20 second delay between zones

Has the EMA received any reports of problems with the T-128 at Galbraith & Winton? I mentioned how it was still facing the same direction after the February growl test, and it’s still in the same position after today’s test.

I’m working on a spreadsheet & map and was wondering if there are any EOWS sirens left active in the Cincinnati area. I know there used to be, but i’m unsure if there are any more.
