Wow! Yeah I think I would say that the ademco 5808 is the closest I've seen to the sheer scale of the thing as I remember it so far

To help I decided to put my marginal mechanical drawing skills to the test and make a rough sketch of exactly what I remember seeing, I hope it helps:

None of this is exact, just as best as I can possibly recall!

Holy cow that is one truly impressive monster of an alarm! It looks like it'd be really heavy.. the one I recall seeing did look very similar to this in regards to the color and style, I bet this is about the same time period of manufacturing. That's awesome to see. If you can imagine something like this alarm, but the circular part of it being about twice as large in circumference and extending downwards by a ridiculously long amount, almost like a cylindrical Smokegard 700 even, then that's pretty much it exactly.
It's not that heavy, by the way, it was manufactured in the 70's-80's (I'm unsure of the exact year as by the 90's Smoke detectors were already much more compact than this).

Here are some more pictures:

You can see the mounting plate, it just clips on it and to remove it... it's a royal pain in the neck (if you don't have a flat-head screwdriver and or scared of breaking it)

You can see how thick the plastic shell is, these were rock solid I tell you.

EDIT: Just saw about the Ademco 5808, it's somewhat closely resembling to my Ademco 623-12 (the one I posted pictures of)

Your detector is likely an ESL 611UT. I won one, however this is not my picture:

Oh man, I think after all this time it's definitely finally been identified, wow! What a wild looking alarm, is it particularly rare or hard to find?
It's amazing to see, and even though I think I did misinterpret the size a little I wasn't far off at all. That's so awesome! Thank you so much, and everyone else too who contributed, for sharing and helping me identify the mystery alarm.

They are relatively uncommon to find out in the wild, however there are usually a few on eBay.
