Okay - On the Michigan Statewide Siren map ran by Mr. Spencer Harman, there are three LAWS 1200 sirens owned and operated by the Sault Tribe. Having never heard of one before, I am curious, but I have seen one before, I just don't remember where.
I don't know a lot about them, but a few cities in Texas have purchased units from them. This isn't really surprising, as they are based here in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. Celina, TX has at least one at a park near downtown, and Midland, TX purchased 9 units to augment their less-than-stellar system of ATI's which was installed in the early 2000's. It looks like the design has evolved somewhat. I think the earlier models used large black re-entrant style Atlas horns, while the newer ones seem to have the current generation Cobreflex horns.
They remind me a lot of the old Motorola sirens, but probably work 400x better.
