I believe you have a Federal model 3 siren. It is for sure a Federal siren, and the reason I believe you have a model 3 is due to the shorter motor. If you look up pictures of the chopper/motor assemblies of Federal model 5/7's they have a longer motor, where the model 3 has a shorter motor. Thus I believe you have the guts of a Federal Model 3, Good Find!
Thanks for the reply, sorry I didn't respond sooner! I later added that the siren is taller than it looks in the photo. I've researched some Model 3's, and they appear to have a smaller rotor, 14", while this one has the 18" rotor like a 5/7. I haven't been able to find any Model X's that have a capacitor-start single phase motor, they all appear to use a brush motor of one type or another. The motor on my unit appears to be the original, and very old.

Was going to say that I didn't think that Federal used capacitor start/run motors on their sirens, the exception is the Thunderbolt because it uses a capacitor start/run motor for the blower on single phase models.

Thanks for your reply. One other member suggested that also, and that's the direction I'm leaning. The rotor and stator sure look like an FS 5/7, but not the motor. Trying to find some pics of a naked Siro-Drone to compare, along with info on the proper starting components for the single-phase capacitor-start motor.

The should look the same. There is a video of a naked 10 port siro-drone on youtube with a similar chopper/stator set-up, and a similar motor on it. Having trouble with embedding the video, so here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCcPeAStX44&t=80s

Not to derail anything on this topic, but:

Bit ambitious of you for saying that, especially as you've only been here for less than a month!

Thanks again for your involvement. In the last few days, I did look at all the H.O.R.'s on YouTube, and I agree that one has some similarities. Searching around this board last night, I found a picture of a bunch of sirens one of the members had posted for sale a few years back, and and one of them had the closest match I've found so far for the motor, although the rest of it was quite different. The sirens weren't identified in the picture, but he had 3 H.O.R.'s on the list. I've PM'd him to see if he can help. Have a great day!

That chopper and motor scream Federal. I'm thinking perhaps an older 5 or maybe an older 3? The siren in this video seems to look a lot like OP's siren:

(The videoed siren is a refurbed Model 3)

its a siro-drone prof https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCcPeAStX44.
With all due respect, you aren't even remotely correct. The motor doesn't even look remotely like the videoed siren's motor, and plus it is a 12 port siren that OP has, not a 10 port like the videoed siren. The dimensions the OP provided suggest a Federal Model 5 is what he has. Or perhaps a mismash. Whatever the case is, the siren is at least 50% Federal. I used to own a 5T and looking back on my pictures of it, the chopper looks exactly the same as OPs siren, sans his being single tone. Here is a picture of Eric G's pieced together 5. Compare the chopper and stator on OPs siren with this:

Honestly I wholesomely believe this is some kind of Federal. The evidence is there.
