New Staff (Please read!)

Fri Mar 13, 2015 4:17 am

So, I think it's safe to assume that you probably recognize some of the new names and groups but I feel like I should explain it a bit better.

Groups

Global Moderators
AKA Head Moderators. These moderators are those that have been entrusted with admin panel access and are responsible with making management decisions when it comes to major incidents and reports. They are also going to be helping me out with account issues, profile issues, and general tech problem that you may experience. (Like those will ever occur! :D) They have the power to add new moderators and are able to ban in multiple ways (IP, address, username, etc.). tl;dr they're basically Jr. Admins. All Head Moderators are those that have been around for a very long time, worked with the users as regular moderators, and are just an absolute pleasure to work with.

Moderators
These moderators are in charge of the daily grind of post approval, post clean ups, and general moderation. They are basically the heart of ARS and are what keeps posts flowing like normal. They have all the same powers as the old moderator group including power to ban (so watch out!).

Now let's bring on the names!

Please join me in welcoming and congratulating the new Head Mods on their well earned promotion: (in no particular order)

The man behind the hammer. The ban hammer. (not really, sorta). Jeb has been on board as a mod since close to day one of the migration of hosts and software and is always around to pick up tasks. He always puts in 100% effort to the forums and is always there when we need him. Thank you so much, and congrats on your promotion!

Lurks, clicks, bans. While doing more behind the scenes works now a days, Ian always figures out solutions logically and comes up with the best solutions to any type of problem we have on ARS. Super happy, now that I have someone that actually has an understanding of how phpBB works. Congrats on your well deserved promotion, Ian!

The Whelen master, Bryan is always on top of reports as they come in. When I check my email for reports, he usually already has them handled and solved. Now that he can help fix user problems, I think the turn around time for account issues should now be dramatically decreased. Congrats, Bryan!

Please welcome the new mod squad! (again, in no particular order)
Trevor - https://airraidsirens.com/forums/member ... ile&u=2248
Having a super neutral look on things is precisely why I chose Trevor as a moderator for ARS. Trevor gets along with everyone, is super intelligent, and is the perfect fit for solving problems. As a highly active user on ARS, I know he will provide new competition between mods to pickup post approvals. Welcome aboard, Trevor!

Providing many new colors to the mod team, Logan is no stranger to support problems. Watching topics in a sassy way, he actually gets work done. He has a big interest and is always motivated to helping ARS. Welcome aboard Logan!!

Jeff is by far the most active among the moderators. He is always on top of new tasks and actively scowers the board to find problems. He has been nothing but a pleasure to work with and is definitely one of the people I had in mind for the moderator position. Welcome, Jeff!

Charles has been a moderator longer then I've even been on the board! He has majorly contributed to the moderation of ARS over the past many years, and still continues to provide valuable information and watch over the forums. Thank you for being with us all these years!

And of course, I cannot forget the man who started it all and who is still here after 15 some odd years. JasonC - https://airraidsirens.com/forums/member ... ofile&u=26. While a bit more inactive, he is still here when we need him and to help out when he can.

I thank all of you guys for helping out on the forums and keeping it up and running! And especially to you all as the users, for coming back after all these years.

As always,
--Matt

Awesome post and a warm congrats to everyone. Matt I would like to point out something that is sending my OCD on the fritz and that is Holler has the siren expert badge and not the moderator badge. I just wanted to point that out. Anyways though again a congrats to the new team from the west!

Thank you for the kind words :D . I hope to have a bit more time to hang around ARS for awhile now, and will look forward to getting to know the many new members...
