Fairborn Replaces 2 2T22s

Tue Aug 19, 2014 12:05 am

Here's a good article on Fairborn, OH's siren upgrade that just took place. Fairborn has a system of 6 2001s plus 2 more 2001s at Wright State University.

$98,000 for two sirens? Geesh, they better come with gold plated antennas.

That has to be a misprint, $98,000 is a system upgrade.

I think that's actually a 508? Were those 2t22s the last remaining CD-era sirens or are there still some CD-era sirens remaining?

When I was down there a while ago I took some pictures of a Model 5 on top of Wright State. Also got some pictures of the 2T22 at the park.

I remember seeing these 508s up close when Austin Burns and I visited West Shore in July.

Is the Black Lane 2t22 still there?

Franklin, OH (south of Dayton) replaced its remaining two 1000Ts with 508s within the past couple of months. I've seen/heard the 1000Ts run this year, but the last time I drove past one of them, the old siren and pole were gone and a new 508 was on a new pole installed in the same hole in the ground. (I work in Springboro but occasionally drive into Franklin for something.)

Just curious, when did Dayton start removing their old siren system?
