Awesome Allertor test run

Sat Aug 09, 2014 6:46 pm

This is a siren I'm restoring for a friend. Decided to have some fun with it while it's still at the house:

Nice, 8/12 port. I'd lose it if I heard something like this wind up during a storm, scary sounding man.

Wow Jeb! That's the first time I ever heard you run a siren up in alert mode! :D No but all joking aside that sounded so awesome!!!!!! The 8/12 port is perfect for people who need a couple of chills down their spine...

Thats the first 8/12 port allertor ive ever heard. Out of all the hundreds of thousands these sirens how many do you think were made 8/12?
According to my signature ive been 16 years old for the past two years.Apparently i have found the Fountain of Youth

How far was the camera/recorder to the siren being restored? That's some impressive 'slight-doppler effect' echo.

I'm curious what the rotor/stator look like. None of us have seen an Allertor-size 8/12 rotor before, to my belief. If some have, at least I haven't.

The siren sounds epic in the recordings. I'm surprised it sounds like it's bigger than it actually is.

Considering the 8/12s were made for a short time around 1970, probably a few dozen.
