My New Model A Siren Housing "Lamp"

Tue Jul 01, 2014 1:09 am

I got the early 1970's/late 1960's Federal Sign and Signal Model A siren housing lamp from eBay for $20.00. This arrived to my place on June 26, 2014. I have no idea why it was converted into a lamp. I will use it as a lamp for now. It did not include the light bulb and wires when I got it. The siren lamp works when I wired it up and installed a light bulb.

I will show photos of it now.

I don't see why people turn antiques into lamps, they're worth much more if they just leave it the hell alone.

Either way, interesting lamp.

Either way, interesting lamp.
It is possible that the person who made this lamp found a Model A housing and decided to use it for a lamp.

That is very cool, I wish I had one. I wonder why this was done. Very nice find!

Ha! That's pretty cool. Hopefully the motor was already fried or something and it was otherwise unrepairable.
