Duo-sonic Electronic Vehicle Sirens

Thu Jul 22, 2010 8:59 pm

Has anyone else ever heard of this siren. We had them on two mid seventies National Ambulance Co. squads. I look for them all the time on e-bay etc. but have never found one. Anyone out there have one ?
My neighbors just love me !!

rms, inc [me] invented the siren and i still have a few that can be built on custom order. i also used the duo-sonic in my volunteer fire days... nothing better.

please write if you are interested in one. rms, inc will bill you via paypal for a deposit, or can take your credit card via 'square register' and the remainder when ready to ship. it takes about 30 days for me to assemble one presently. $600 for siren and cables, w/nice microphone.

the ds-100-1 is for one 100W speaker. the ds-100-2 is for 1 or 2 siren speakers, 60W on one speaker, 100W with 2 speakers.

best.. richard

........I believe that you may be trying to locate either a Carson or Southern V.P unit......I have an antique Police car from the mid 70's that I am doing a resto-mod on and are also attempting to locate a siren that is a dual tone that can do wail and yelp together. Carson had a model that this could be done with.
For less than $600.00 I could buy a new Federal or Whelan siren control unit (no lights or mic.) and take it to an electronics/radio shop and have them work it so that wail and yelp sound together.....just saying. I would not want to dump that kind of money into a siren set up that would possibly be part of a static display or a parade.
Here are a couple of dealers that deal in siren control boxes....new and used

I was thinking Southern VP. I had one on an Ambulance I worked in back in the late 70's . The siren had a unique sound which set it apart from the Federal Interceptors.
