Mysterious security system siren

Fri Feb 24, 2017 4:15 pm

Hey folks,

Been a bit slow for me siren-wise lately (I have three videos on the backlog but I'm having editor trouble that's preventing me from getting them out), but we made an interesting discovery this morning while checking out the attic in our house...

I haven't been able to find any information at all on it - there's no tag or plate, and while several are floating around eBay none have any info either - though they do agree it's 110 volts. This security system is from ADT, dates to 1989, and has been decommissioned for years. The panel (and an Ademco sounder) are going to be removed today, in fact.

Does anyone have any ideas on this guy? Thanks!
Don't wait. Take a siren photo today.

I believe those were made in the former Yugoslavia for use with security systems in Europe and the USA.

Very interesting find, my friend who owns a brinks/adt system with something that looked like that. Unfortunately, it ran off 12 volts AC. When he got the volts and amps to run it, it only hummed and refused to spin.
