Secomak VS2 - anyone know it's history?

Mon Jan 16, 2017 7:03 pm

Recently picked up a Secomak VS/2. I've seen clips of the VS/1 which is a 6v siren - but this is a 24v siren and so not sure if it's going to be much louder - but I'll see.
Anyway - I'm wondering if anyone else here has any info on the history of the VS/2 - dates, etc.
Anything much appreciated. I do a lot of home front ww2 stuff - and naturally have a post war Secomak 447 - but this is my first proper electric siren and I'm curious about it.
Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

Woop woop! :hurricane:

VS stands for Vehicle Siren, I own a CS3 which stands for Coded Siren and a GP1 (GP stands for General Purpose). Sorry but that's all I know right now.

Ah no that's ace. What do they mount these things on - or just any old vehicle that needed it?

Probably came off of a fire truck or an ambulance. Being 24 volt maybe a military vehicle
