Federal sign and signal model 28 tear down

Sat Oct 01, 2016 3:50 pm

Hello all! I just picked up a model 28. It is pretty weak and in need of sprucing up! So I am going to take it apart and clean/paint it and replace anything that I can that it needs. I have never been in one so, is there a good breakdown and rebuild article out there? Also is there a specific way I should wire it? Like does it need a solenoid or just wire straight to battery with a switch in between? Thanks a lot!

I had one of those, and you'll definitely need a high current relay or solenoid to switch it.

Sending it to B&M is a good idea.

B&M will refurbish Federal Model 28 sirens?

Yes! They do any siren, but as of now the owner is dealing with cancer so it could take weeks.
