The most broken Model A ever

Wed Mar 16, 2016 3:26 am

Tonight I was talking to a few folks, and we decided to open up my Model A for the heck of it to see what it would take to get it fixed.

The results were...shall we say, unexpected?

It's like Pinkie Pie got in here - I didn't know it was physically possible to do this. I'm feeling very glad it was only $30 right now. (Not that I wasn't previously aware it was damaged and non-functional.)

Unless I seriously feel like grabbing a new stator (and maybe a new motor - the horn smelt suspiciously like crispy electrical stuff), I guess this one will get a paint job and a spot somewhere as a display piece eventually.
Don't wait. Take a siren photo today.

Oh just paint over it and plug it in you will be fine. (No don't actually do that...)
Own and love a Thunderbolt 1000 and a Model 5.

I have many hobbies and interests. And I love them all.

Didn't you say that this was the model A that was frozen? It looks to me like water got in there somehow and froze, causing the stator to split from the motor.
Whatever you do, don't push that big red button🔴!!!

It is the same A, and it was accidentally dropped by the person my mother obtained it from, as the original topic details.
