Ardmore, OK RM-130

I found a couple of pictures of that I took of an ASC RM-130 in Ardmore, OK a few weeks ago. They have 17 of theses. While driving around, I found about 6 or 7. There was a 2T22 at the hotel we stayed at on Lake Murray. I will post pictures of that if I can find them.



They seem to activate their sirens by WiFi?

Awesome pics, I haven't been through Ardmore since maybe 2004, before I got my interest in sirens. I might get some more siren pics from Kansas-Oklahoma, we are taking a back road route to our farm tomorrow.

SirenkiD: Did you happen to drop by Pauls Valley, OK? I have been there like 5 times to see family, and have yet to find any sirens there!

Kswx29: We actually came in from Dallas/Ft. Worth, so we didn't get quite that far north in our trip. (I flew from Indianapolis into Dallas, where my family picked me up, and drove to OK.)

Unfortunately, we did not go through Topeka. We went Denver-Wakeeney on I-70, turned south towards Ness City, on to Jetmore and near Dodge City, through Buffalo, Woodward, and then our farm. I sure did see a lot of sirens though. I will post pics when I get home next week.

I actually helped out with that project in 1998 (and did the hard wiring of the control unit in the dispatch center). Compliance Technologies was awarded the installation contract. 17 sirens were installed, and 11 were removed. One of the older sirens was an early gen. 2001, 2 others were Thunderbolts, and the other 8 were 2T22's. One of the thunderbolts was on springdale RD, the other was on the roof of the communications center. The siren site at the airport was the worst of them all, as we had to cut through a "jungle" of underbrush just to gain access to the site and move equipment in...

The RM130s are a sweet setup...AC/DC powered. I understand that the 2001 was also relocated later on as part of the project. I enjoyed the time I spent at Pecos Red's and Gushers during the evenings, and buying 3.2 beer for the first time ever at a convenience store (none of that back east).

Is the RM-130 the prototype for the T-128/T-135...?

I use to think the same at first, but it's different. The T-128 has horns directing each port's sound forward, while here the sound is directed around the inner part, away from those channels at the back. It seems like a rough-copy T-128, though I doubt it has any intentional relation to it concerning the front part.

Those triangle shaped segments are actually horns. The intake is that small hole at the center of the horn array, and each space between the horns on the inside. It is 9 port, too.
