Little rock sirens

Mon Jul 06, 2009 2:22 am

I am going to Little Rock Arkansas in a few weeks and I was wondering what sirens they have and where they are? Are there any thunderbolts in the area?

There's 2001s and Modulators in Little Rock, they used to have a variety of sirens. I'm wanting to say they used to have 2Ts, 2T22/3T22s maybe model 5s and thunderbolts downtown.
Still close enough to a Fed Sig 550AT to drive out on test day: First Friday in May - 7PM!

everything in Little rock AR was replaced about 4 years ago with Whelens 2809's All 2T's thunderbolts and 2t22's were all sold off. there are none left.

I can confirm also that Little Rock has an entire Whelen omnidirectional system. There are no Federals or any rotating Whelens in it at all. Any other siren models would be from a surround system.

Thanks for the help. I remember when I was there about 6 years ago there was a rotating siren that went off for a tornado warning. That was before I was into sirens. I remember asking why it got loud then quiet.

How about the surrounding area? Also does anyone know anything about the sirens in Conway and Heber Springs? I will be in those areas.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't Conway have that messed up Thunderbolt?

I just got back from Arkansas. Little Rock has a huge fleet of 2809s.

In North Little Rock I found a few thunderbolts and 2t22s.

I found 3 thunderbolts Rout 67/167. One was north of exit 19(1003), one was at exit 11(1000/1000T) and one was at exit 10a(1000/1000T).

on I40 I found what looked like an ACA 121 on a hill in the trees.

On I30 near exit 125 I saw what looked like a vortex siren with a solar panel. Could not see it very well as it was far from the highway.

Hmmm. I thought Little Rock ditched all of their old sirens.Unless North Little Rock is a completely separate city. Were those T bolts /2t22's still active? Did they look active?
