From copcar.com - ?I think maybe someone should contact the family or the funeral home about an escort for the funeral, using some cars with Federal lights on them. I know most people up there have their cars in storage, but it would be a nice gesture, if someone has a car they will bring out for the funeral procession.?

From elightbars.com ? ?So everyone who has a Beacon Ray in their collection or on an old truck should fire it up at 1 PM on Saturday.?
i am extremely sad to see such a legend and innovator like Earl pass away. they should put an FS-2001, a modulator, a thunderbeam, and thunderbolt at the corners near the coffin and put light bars flashing on the side RIP Earl W. Gosswiller a legend, and an innovator whose work, and life won't be forgotten.

You realize you just brought up a two year old topic just to post something utterly ludicrous, right?

It came with its benefits however; I had no idea who this man was until I stumbled upon this topic. That said, tardiness be damned, RIP, Mr. Gosswiller.

I was wondering if anyone has any extra information about Earl Gosswiller. I am studying him for my scientist day project and need more information. Any information is helpful.

Sincerely,

He did nothing wrong Model L (and please don't mini-mod, it's bad m'kay?). He bumped this thread because he had a relevant question about Mr. Gosswiller. To answer your question Allertorguy, the chicago tribune article in the original post seems to be all that's out there since no official biography or memoirs appear to have been published. Here is something in regards to patents he held, although not directly related probably still contains some neat stuff:

oh okay. His death date is 1/3/2012 according to the Chicago Tribune. His birthday is 1/9/1912 according to a website called "Mylife" (Which claims he is alive and 106 years old). Since he lived in the Chicago area for his whole life according to context clues, that could be a good estimate for his hometown/POB.

Adam Pollak spoke with him a couple years before his death and picked his brain some. IIRC, he also invented something with the B-52 tail gun
