Found this in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I'm thinking ATI or DSA?

First Generation ATI. Look at the mount. There's a system of these in Whitehouse, TX.

At first glance you are going to say to me "Dave you dumbie, that is clearly a Model 5 that someone modified"...but have a look at it, good and close... do you see the standard sloppy weld marks or poopoo craftsmanship that is normally found in sirens that someone modified? I don't and I walked all around this thing, so either this was done by a top shelf metalworking place or it is something else. Maybe this was another trial from Federal trying something different, I don't really know but it looks WAY to well done to be some guy at the firehouse with a welding torch and some sheetmetal. This is located at the Topton Fire Department in Berks County, Pa

I'd say it's a fireman who's pretty good at welding or who is a machinist or a metalworker. Either way, I'm pretty sure Federal would also put the according number of horns for the according number of stator ports and aligning them so it would give out the most sound it could give out.

As Synther said, that is a very early ATI. Congrats on finding it!

Identifying characteristics include the mounting bracket and control enclosure.

EDIT: I noticed that it was located on some UofA School of Law disconnected campus, and upon further inspection, I believe I've located another one on the main campus: https://www.google.com/maps/@33.2035382 ... 6656?hl=en

The University of Alabama has a system of those early ATIs located around their campus. I saw a few of them when I visited the college at least a year ago.

Below the Model 2.

Edit: I think it might be an ACA banshee 110.
Chem_Boffin_6589 wrote:That looks way too small for a banshee. I think banshee 110 'skirts' are bigger than a Model 2 housing, plus the motor that would be on top of it is way to small for a banshee as well.

Not sure if this is even a siren or not, but this is at the Undine FC in Bellefonte, PA which already has an SD-10. It's mounted on the roof at the front of the station inside of a rusted containment of sorts. My best guess is that if it is a siren, it would've been the predecessor to the SD-10.

Ah, that's a rare "Invisi-Siren," produced by Federal Signal for a few years.

Jokes aside, there's no pict  u
