The HOR with the single horn simply has a different arrangement of rotors, with the two rotors together. Other than that, the half-tube housing, motor and rotator look the same.

I think that Greg N. took a recording of a single-head HOR a couple years back. Weirdest thing I ever heard.

Dual-tone HOR sirens like the one in your photo had a 7/10 port ratio, the only one like it in the industry. Here is a vertical model with that ratio:

Thanks for all the info. Hopefully someone around here will be able to record it soon. Always fun finding oddball rare sirens like that :)

Some sort of homemade siren. Looks nice. Bewster, KS

Rexford, Kansas

Thomas County, KS is full of wierd sirens. A extremely low mounted allertor, these two mystery sirens. The only cities with normal siren setups are Gem with an STH-10, and Colby with 2 Thunderbolt 1000Ts, and 2 2t22s.

That second one in Rexford looks like a Sterling M-5. Not exactly sure on the first one (in Bewster), but it definitely looks electronic.

This maybe a Federal Model B. I wish the picture was clearer. However, it sure looks like one.
