Re: Lowest mounted Siren in US

There's two utility poles on either side of it! I wonder why they didn't mount the siren on them, or even on the roof. That is horrendously low. Probably the lowest seen on this thread for a decent while!

Allertor in Tipton, KS: https://goo.gl/gaF9t7 Literally about a foot off the ground. For being a siren of this size, it's extemely low!
Apparently mounting sirens disturbingly low to the ground is a trend with this town...

Yep, I saw that one as well while hunting.

That allertor is insane. It would be fun to do a walk-around recording of it going off (with sufficient hearing protection, of course). I wonder if it's active...
also, am I the only one who would love to ride it if it goes off?
I have an unhealthy obsession with mini sirens.

By the looks of things, there's a meter, and cable going to the siren, and the disconnect that is just being propped up by some conduit seems to be on, as seen here: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.335865, ... 312!8i6656

If this is a permanent installation, here is a ground mounted E57:

Judging that it is on a pallet I don't think it is a permanent install. It's probably a test setup.

Not as low as Tipton's Allertor, but still deserving of being on this list!

Is that siren being suspended or something? Since I see nothing supporting the siren from below.
