That siren has since been taken down sadly, the fire department sits way up on top of a hill so they mounted the siren this low so it would hopefully carry into the valley below instead of going straight out over it, Indiana Township has gone all pager now so the siren was removed when the firehouse was redone.

Even if the station went all pager, the siren should be kept as backup or a storm siren
Sometimes the siren stays up when they go all pager if it isn't costing money or isn't in the way. In this case, the siren was mounted in what would become the front lawn of the new firehouse, so it was taken down and went God knows were. Also generally speaking, we don't have storm sirens..there are a few places that do and they are starting to pop up (mostly FEMA Grant) but on the whole a storm siren in PA is unheard of.

Well, ok, I hope it went to a good home

There's a nearby T-128/135 Probably 13 ft. off the ground. Only been to it once on accident.

Bumpity bump.

This is pretty low.

Down to a Thunderbolt chopper, still a few goofy flashlight-siren combos, and a Model L.

I would hate to be on that road when the thing was facing my direction!
I have an unhealthy obsession with mini sirens.

It's not super low, but it's pretty low mounted.

This SD-10 in Sunset, UT? It kinda looks like it's mounted on a step ladder.
