Bristol, TN Sirens in 2018?

Thu Jul 19, 2018 10:10 pm

Does anyone know of the old sirens that are still there in Bristol? For example the 2t22s or the 500at or the thunderbolt 1003? Im going to be in that area on test day and would love to catch one! Thanks.
Very proud owner of a Thunderbolt 1000B Full unit, a fully restored Model 5B, A Full Model 2 Unit, a Model A, a crank siren, and several mini sirens! :TBolt:

I think the old sirens were removed. Last fall, I was going through the area on the supposed test day (didn't hear any test, oddly enough, though there may have been an event that day), and was going to record the 5000AT, but I saw that it was unfortunately removed. I did see a T-128 on the south side of the town though.

There is/was a bolt in Bristol?

Kingsport has P-50's and I think they're still active. They're tested on Saturdays at Noon also.
In my opinion, I think there way too many 2001's in Indiana!

Are they even active? because one of them hasn't even rotated in at least 5 years.

One of the 2T22s have been relocated to where K Mart used to be. https://www.google.com/maps/@36.5914589 ... 312!8i6656. Don't know about the other 2T22 that has been removed.

I was in Bristol/Tri Cities area for a funeral this April and saw a 500 series still up.

Weird, because the siren was gone when I was there. Maybe they took it down to get it fixed? I know when Trainsandsirens1 recorded it, it had issues rotating.
