New Sentry 14V found in Shipshewana, IN

Wed Jun 27, 2018 7:56 pm

I was in Shipshewana hoping to record the STH-10 doing a noon blast, but it activated right as we pulled in. Then I saw the most unexpected sight when going to IN-5 and US-20 to eat, a brand new AC only 14V! After lunch, we checked it out and I got some pretty good pictures of it. The STH-10 is still active, and the 14V seems to be for additional coverage. This is located at the new convention center at County Road 200 North just east of South Van Buren Street.

LaGrange County has gone from only having 1 siren per town and only testing once a year, to weekly testing and some new sirens. Shipshewana got this installed, and LaGrange installed a pair of 508's in November. With the new test schedule, they test every Saturday at Noon for 3 minutes (The STH-10 somehow doesn't go for quite 3 minutes).

In my opinion, I think there way too many 2001's in Indiana!

Awesome! I've been looking around the county for new installs, this is pretty neat.
