Whelen WS-2000 Series Decibel Ratings

Mon May 14, 2018 10:31 pm

I was wondering if anybody has any information regarding the decibel ratings for Whelen's WS-2000 Series sirens.

I know the WS-2016 and WS-2000R's ratings are already listed on the TSB Wiki (115 dB), but I don't know anything about the ratings for the other sirens in the series (2008, 2012, and 2020).

Thanks in advance!

Maybe you should go on the wiki.

Perhaps you should read the OP's post in full, or consider checking the wiki yourself.

This document claims that the WS-2008 was rated at 109dB, the 2012 at 112dB, and the 2020 at 115dB.

Thank you. I checked the wiki beforehand and the decibel ratings for the 2008, 2012, and 2020 were not listed.

Does anyone have the rest of that catalog? The page in this thread has been floating around for years but I was curious if the rest of the catalog existed. The 4000-II has always been something of a mystery I've wanted to explore.

I would be willing to bet it was what we know as the 4008.

Based on the distance I'd say I concur. The dB ratings are all screwy on that sheet to begin with so I'm taking them with a grain of salt.

Sorry to hijack your thread, TBoyer. Carry on!
