How loud is a Sterling M-10?

Fri Apr 13, 2018 8:06 pm

when I recently heard a Sterling M-10 go off I was surprised by how quiet it actually was, me and my cousin were standing about 350 ft away from it and now I am wondering, just how loud is a Sterling M-10?

I compiled a big list of siren decibel ratings at one point, and I believe I found that the M-10 puts out 120 dB at 100 feet. Not sure how accurate that rating is, but it's what I found. The one you heard could've had something wrong with it too.

yeah, I agree, although the siren seemed good as new on its tower, who knows what it could have been through, my dad used to live next to it and he said he could hear it loud and clear.

They are more in the 115dB range, max. (1T 16 port)
