Moraine Ohio Sirens

Mon Apr 09, 2018 10:18 pm

Here are some of the locations of some sirens in Moraine Ohio, don't know is some are still working
FS Thunderbolt 1000t: located at 2717 Viking Ln
ASC T-128: located of Ohio Sate Route 741 by the Montgomery County Solid Waste District
ASC T-128: located of Pinnacle Road and Soldiers Home-West Carrollton Road
FS 2T22 or 3T22: located of of South Union Road and Germantown Pike
FS 2001-DC: located of Germantown Pike and West Hemple Road
These are some of the locations as far as I know, does anyone know if the T-Bolt is still working? According to Goggle maps over the years it always seems to be in the same position on the pole.

As far as I'm aware, Moraine has 6 active sirens and 6 inactive sirens. Here are the locations I have, minus the ones you already provided:
T-128: 3211 Dryden Road
T-128: Off of Pinnacle Park Drive behind an apartment building
2T22: Pinnacle Road north of Vance Road
2T22: 4798 East Venetian Way
2T22: 2493 Winwood Avenue
2001-DC: 5265 Cobblegate Drive
5 (possibly 5T): Cloverlawn Avenue and Gladstone Street

As far as activity goes... Moraine is an interesting system. Here's what I know: The T-128's were installed by Clayton Werden in 2007/2008. Those, along with the 2001's, have ASC CompuLert radios. The older sirens all have Federal Signal radios. Werden told me that the T-128's are active along with two Federals, presumably the 2001's. With that said, none of the older Federal sirens are active, unfortunately. Even more unfortunate- Moraine is apparently dumping their entire system. Werden told me they're taking them all down. He heard this on the inside, and it isn't 100% confirmed. And of course, Moraine tests on the first Monday at noon, along with most of Montgomery County. Hope this all helps!

The T-128s have the old blue ASC logo BTW, so they were most likely installed before 2007. I think they switched to the circular logo in 2006.

It just so happened that I got a pic of the Moraine Thunderbolt yesterday on my way to Carillon Park. Not the greatest pic, but I just took it real quick after I saw it. I also saw 1 T-128 over there as well. Sad to hear that Moraine is dumping all their sirens.

I helped Clayton build and install the T-128`s and I think but not sure that we installed them in 2005, it was my first time working with metal poles.

Quite a shame that Moraine is or may be taking down its siren systems. Utetube21 and I were planning to go down there this summer and film the sirens there, hopefully it is before the (supposed) takedown date.

Passing through Moraine this weekend, the Thunderbolt has been removed, and I believe the Model 5 has as well, as I don’t see it anywhere over the sound barrier like I used to. The pole for the Thunderbolt still seems to stand, while both T-128s visible from I-75 still stand as well.

That's interesting. I went up on the 16th and the Thunderbolt was still standing
