Outdoor Warning Sirens:
Several warning sirens are located throughout Rosemount and are
intended to alert people who are outdoors only. In Dakota County,
the policy is to sound outdoor warning sirens when the National
Weather Service has issued Severe Thunderstorm Warnings with
winds over 70 m.p.h. and Tornado Warnings for cities in Dakota
County. When the sirens sound, go inside and tune into local radio,
television, or electronic media outlets. On the first Wednesday of
each month at 1 p.m. warning sirens are tested to ensure they are
functioning properly.
