Seeking some NE Ohio siren info

Sun Jan 14, 2018 3:06 am

As some of you probably know, there’s a map of sirens for NE Ohio on Google. However, this map was made so long ago it’s hardly reliable since most of the sirens on it don’t exist anymore. I’m seeking information on Kent’s siren system; do they still have Thunderbeams or have they been replaced? And do they still have the Whelen Vortexes? Does anyone know if they are there, active, and/or tested? I’m compiling a list of sirens to film over the summer and I’d love to nab a Whelen, but it’s hard because there’s none near me anymore. I heard Norton has an OmniAlert on their FD, does anyone know about that and when/if it’s tested? Thanks! I’m gonna check with some other siren enthusiasts in the area to see if they know anything.
